There are few things I love more on a hot summer day than homemade pickles straight out of the jar! I’ve got to admit, I’m a sucker for all kinds of pickles but the homemade ones are definitely the best. Plus, they’re super easy to make and customize to your personal preferences. I designed some labels for you to stick on your canning jars just in case you’re planning on giving some of these homemade pickles as gifts to friends and neighbors. Hope you find this homemade pickle recipe and label helpful!
The only materials you need to make these homemade pickles as a gift are canned pickles (recipe below), labels from OnlineLabels.com, and the Homemade Pickles Free File. I designed the file to fit perfectly on those labels, making it super easy to just print and stick!
- 3 1/2 cups water
- 1 1/4 cups vinegar
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp salt
- 2-3 garlic cloves
- 4 peppercorns
- 3 sprigs fresh dill
- 3 medium cucumbers
- Bring first 4 ingredients to a boil and allow sugar and salt to dissolve completely. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
- Place the rest of the ingredients in a large mason jar.
- Pour cooled liquid over contents of the mason jar, tighten lid, and store in refrigerator for 24 hrs before consuming.
With your jars of pickles ready to go, you can now print out the super cute labels I made for this project. I’ve included sections for your name and the date the pickles were made.
All you have to do is enter in your information …
and stick in place on the front of the mason jar!
