Whether you’re a football mom watching your son play from the sidelines or an avid fan of your favorite sports team, these touchdown football pretzel favors are sure to be a big hit at your next gathering! They are an absolute breeze to make and with the free label offered below, packaging is just as easy. No one’s going to believe that you “just whipped them up right before coming!”
Making these treats is so easy that you really don’t even need a tutorial to show you how! Basically, you’re going to need pretzel rods, white and brown melting chocolates, a piping bag (or sandwich baggie), some pretzel treat bags, and the awesome “Touchdown Pretzel Treats” labels you can download below. I found bags at my local craft store that were specifically made for chocolate pretzels so they’re the perfect size. But, any long treat bag will do the job. I used these great Arched Labels from OnlineLabels.com that the file below was created for. You could also use a basic rectangular label but they won’t be as fancy!
Using a double boiler, melt the chocolate colored melting candies until smooth. Dip the pretzel rods into the chocolate until at least halfway coated. Allow some of the excess chocolate to drip off before placing on a sheet of parchment paper and allowing to dry. Repeat this process until you’ve got the number of pretzels that you want.
As the chocolate is hardening, melt the white chocolate in a double boiler and spoon into a piping bag. You can substitute a sandwich baggie for a piping bag if you don’t have one available. It’ll be a little harder to control but should be fine.
Set the pretzels aside until the chocolate is completely hardened. Now would be a good time to work on printing out the labels!
With the pretzels done and the labels printed, all you need to do now is place a few in the treat bags, fold the top part over, and use the labels to secure closed.
Hope you have just as much fun making these Touchdown Football Pretzel Treats as everyone else will eating them!
