I love the holidays. There is an excitement and feeling of wonderment in the air. What I love most about this time of year is all of the sparkle that you see everywhere, especially on Christmas trees.
This year, instead of spending a lot of money on personalized ornaments, I thought I’d make my own using labels. It was so easy and inexpensive. Plus, it’s an easy project to get your kids to make with you.
- Clear glass or plastic ornaments found at any craft store
- Mod Podge
- Foam brush
- Black paint (optional)
- Piece of paper
- Alphabet Letter Labels OL237 – 0.6903″ x 0.5786″ Labels
(For this project, I worked with gold foil, silver foil, and white.)
Step 1: This step is optional depending on what color letter labels you choose. If you prefer black lettering, paint your alphabet labels black. If you prefer the gold or silver foil labels, skip this step.
Step 2: Stick the labels onto the ornament.
Step 3: Spread Mod Podge onto the ornament. Let dry. This is to preserve the ornament and lettering for years to come.
Step 4: Make a cone out of a piece of paper and tape.
Step 5: Pour glitter into your ornament so at least 1/3rd of the ornament is filled. Place cap back onto the ornament and hang on your tree.
