There is a movement called “Kindness Rocks.” It’s where you decorate rocks and hide them in parks, grocery carts and random places for people to find. The rocks can be decorated with paint, markers, but I chose to decorate mine with labels!
The idea is to brighten someone’s day when they find the rock. Get the kiddos in on the action and help you decorate them. This DIY project a great way to teach your family how to spread love and to do random acts of kindness.
- Rocks (I found these at my local hardware store in the garden department)
- Small labels: I chose: OL263 – 0.75″ x 0.75″ Star Labels and OL240 – 0.75″ x 0.75″ Heart Labels
- OL237 – 0.6903″ x 0.5786″ Letter Labels
- Outdoor Mod Podge
- Optional: black craft paint
Step 1: (Optional) Paint your white letter labels black. (I did this because I had white rocks and it’d be hard to see the white letters.) What’s awesome about OnlineLabels.com is that they have so many colors to choose from – so take your pick.
Step 2: Decide the best placement for your labels and then stick them on your rocks.
Step 3: Spread Outdoor Mod Podge on top of your labels. Let dry. (The Outdoor Mod Podge will seal the label onto the rock and will protect it from the weather.)
Step 4: Hide your rocks around your town so someone, who really needs to hear the message, can find them. Place them somewhere obvious or somewhere hidden. Just put out the intention that the person who needs it the most will find it.
