This Fourth of July, party like it’s 1776! This DIY shirt will be a hit at your BBQ or pool party. In fact, you can even make one for each of your kids or all of your friends.
Want another saying? Perhaps for a family reunion, family trip to Disney World, birthday party, scout field trips or whatever event you may need it for. Simply use OnlineLabel.com’s Maestro Label Designer program and make your own. What’s cool about using this program is that it automatically reverses your design so you don’t have to worry about it. If you don’t reverse your design it will be reversed on your shirt (or pillowcase or tote bag)
Honestly, I was a bit nervous as I began working on this project. I wasn’t sure if it’d really work. However, it’s actually a lot easier than I thought. Seriously, you just iron the transfer paper on your shirt and peel it off after it cools. It really is that easy!
I chose to do a white t- shirt and use OnlineLabel.com’s Light Iron-on Transfer Paper. You could alo choose black shirts as well. The black shirts have different instructions. In fact, there are instructional videos for both the light and dark colored transfer sheets.
I recommend watching the videos before you start the project for further tips.
- Pre-washed white t-shirt

- Ironing board or towel
Step 1: Print the design on your transfer paper.
Step 2: Iron your pre-washed t-shirt. You’ll want to pre-wash it in case the shirt shrinks.
Step 3: Cut any excess white space off of your design. Be sure to leave at least ¼” of blank space around your design.
Step 4: Lay your design on the t-shirt and start ironing. (The iron has to be on the highest setting.) Press the iron on the design for 90 seconds. Click here for more specific instructions on the ironing process.
Step 5: After the shirt cools, carefully peel off the transfer paper and enjoy your shirt.
Project complete. Happy 4th of July!
