3 DIY Mother’s Day Sugar Scrub Recipes + Free Printable
Posted by Kelly Ladd on May 11, 2017
It’s Mother’s Day! How are you going to pamper your mom? My mom does so much for my entire family. She deserves to take a load off once in a while and just take care of herself. I love giving my mom spa gift certificates and other goodies like that.
So, I’ve made my mom some sugar scrubs so she can take more time for herself. I’ve also designed some labels to stick onto the jars. This is the extra little touch that will make the gift even more special.
You can basically choose any of your favorite flavors. The main ingredients are coconut oil and sugar and then you add in your favorite flavors.
Here are the flavors I created for my mom:
- Green tea and aloe
- Lavender
- Coconut and lime
As for the labels, I used:
Ingredients:
Base:
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of coconut oil
Green tea and aloe:
- 2 packets of green tea
- The inside 3 leaves of aloe (or ¼ cup of aloe gel)
Lavender:
- 1/3 cup of crushed lavender flowers
Lime:
- Zest of 3 limes
Instructions:
Step 1: Melt ¼ of cup of the coconut oil in the microwave.
Step 2: Mix the melted coconut oil with the solid coconut oil and sugar in a bowl.
Step 3: Stir in the “flavor” you are creating.
Step 4: Scoop the scrub into the jar.
Step 5: Stick a label onto the jar.
Project complete!
