I’ve developed a blueberry and mint margarita recipe that is sure to do the trick this Cinco de Mayo. Invite some friends over to celebrate and offer them this concoction. Just make sure you have enough blueberries on hand, because it’s guaranteed everyone will have more than one. Another option is to pour these margaritas in Mason jars, seal them up and bring them to the party to share. Either case, add the label. The extra touch will always delight your friends.
- 1 ¾ cups of your favorite tequila
- ¾ cups sugar
- 1 ½ cups of water
- 2 cups of fresh blueberries
- 15 fresh mint leaves
- ½ cup lime juice
- 2″ circle labels
Print out these labels:
Serves 4 – serving size 1 cup
Step 1: Pour your water and sugar in a Mason jar or container that can seal. Shake it up until the sugar dissolves in the water.
Step 2: Muddle 1 ½ cups of blueberries and mint together. I used a potato masher since I don’t have a pestle or muddler. At this point, you can strain out the skin with a cheesecloth. I personally prefer the pulp.
Step 3: Place the muddled blueberry and mint mixture in a pitcher. Then, pour in the sugar mixture, tequila and lime juice.
Step 4: Pour in Mason jars. Stick the label on the jar. Seal and refrigerate until it’s time to go to the party.
If you plan on serving right away, add ice and a skewer loaded with blueberries and garnish with a lime slice.
Drink responsibly and enjoy.
