You can create an unique piece of artwork for your nursery or toddler’s bedroom with just a handful of inexpensive supplies. Alphabet art is perfect for a little one’s space. It’s never too early to start learning, right? And watercolor is all the rage these days so why not incorporate it into your decor. What do you get when you combine the two? A fun watercolor alphabet art that is bright and colorful and perfect for hanging on the wall!
You don’t need fancy supplies to complete this project. This watercolor tablet and paints are meant for children and not very expensive.
Spray a light coat of the hairspray on the alphabet stickers. Aerosol is a must. A pump hair spray will be too wet. The hairspray will add a waterproof coat to the stickers.
Once the hairspray is dry, use a ruler to help line the alphabet stickers up on a sheet of the watercolor paper. Press firmly to ensure the paint won’t get underneath the stickers.
Continue painting all of the letters and the areas around them. Be sure not to over saturate the stickers.
Once the paint is dry, carefully peel off the stickers to reveal the outline of the letter below.
This is my favorite part. Look how crisp those lines are!
Frame your new artwork and dress up your little one’s room with unique artwork you’ve created yourself! Once you’ve mastered the alphabet you can create artwork with other labels and stickers. The possibilities are endless!
