One of my favorite times of year is spring. I love spending time in my backyard, working in my garden with my son as well as relaxing in the hammock. I also love making crafts for my yard, like these garden markers. Since Earth Day is coming up, I thought I’d spread the joy of gardening to some of my friends by passing out these adorable garden-inspired Mason jars, filled with seeds of course. If you just can’t bare to give these little cuties away, use these jars as a place to store your own seeds.
My family is really big on growing veggies, so I’m passing out vegetable seeds to my friends this Earth Day. If you’re into flowers, give flower seeds. No matter what you give, I’m sure it will be appreciated. It’ll also inspire your friend to spend more time outside enjoying the spring air. Another great gift to give is to offer to help them sow the seeds. Take it from me, it’s fun getting your hands dirty with soil.
Anyways, back to the Earth Day project. These adorable Mason jars are simple to make. Check it out:
- Mason jar
- Craft paint
- Paint brush
- Fairy, gnome or mushroom figures (I bought these at Michaels.)
- Industrial glue
- Seed packets
- Free Printable
- Oval Labels (OL885)
Step 1: Download your labels and print them on your home printer.
Step 2: Paint your figurines and Mason jar lids. You will have to paint three coats. (Honestly, waiting for the paint to dry is the hardest part of this project.)
Step 3: Once dry, glue your painted figurine to the top of your Mason jar lid.
Step 4: Stick your labels onto your Mason jar. Then stick your seed packets inside.
Step 5: Screw your lids onto your Mason jar.
