Don’t you just love spring? The flowers are beginning to bloom and the winter chill begins to dissipate. To celebrate the season, I thought it’d be fun to make Rice Krispies Treat® flowers to pass out to family, friends and neighbors. These flowers are also an adorable treat for Easter as well.
The best part about this snack is that it’s so simple and will take you less than 2 hours to complete from start up to clean up.
- Mini marshmallows
- Rice Krispies® Cereal
- Paper straws
- Plastic gift bags
- Rolling pin
- Cutting board
- Flower cookie cutter
- OL5375 2” circles
- OL177 Full Sheet (green)
Step 1: Make your mix according to the box. Then, stir in pink and yellow chocolate-coated candies. (Note: Make sure your mix cools a bit before doing this. I made the mistake of doing it too quickly and a lot of the candies broke apart because the mix was too hot.)
Step 2: Spread your treat mix on a greased cutting board with a greased rolling pin. Make sure the mix is at least 1/3” thick. If it’s too thin you can’t stick your straws in at the bottom.
Step 3: Press your flower cookie cutter into the mix.
Step 4: Cut leaves from your OL177 full sheet label. (Note: I found that if you cut the petals in the middle of the sheet where the slit is, it’s a lot easier to peel the backing off.)
Step 5: Stick your leaves onto your paper straw. Make sure you make them identical and opposite so they fit neatly together. Then, stick your straw into the bottom of your flower treat.
Step 6: Carefully place your flower into the plastic gift bag.
Step 7: Stick your free downloadable label onto the flower.
