Time is ticking quickly and Santa will soon be coming down the chimney. Do you have all of your gifts ready? Is there someone on your list who you just can’t figure out what to get yet? There are a few I’m still working on. One especially that I just can’t figure out what to get just yet. Nothing I’ve brainstormed feels quite right.
So, I decided to make him a fun personalized photo coaster of his entire family. Not only is this project personal, it’s sure to make him smile when he opens his gift.
It’s a pretty simple project to make and doesn’t take a lot of time at all, which is perfect for a last minute craft.
All you have to do is your turn your color photo to black and white and crop the faces into circles using a program on your computer. Then upload the photos into OnlineLabel.com’s Maestro Label Designer program, which is surprisingly easy to use. Use the OL350 2.5” circle format and put each of your family or friend’s photos in the circles. When you print using this program, I’ve learned that you need to save it as a PDF first to your desktop and then print it from there. This way your printed labels have perfect alignment on your label sheet.
Read below for the complete how-to…
- Slate coasters (I picked these up at Michaels)
- Mod Podge
- OL350 2.5” circle labels in white
- OL175 full sheet label in kraft brown and red
Step 1: Print your family or friends’ black and white photos on white 2.5” circle labels.
Step 2: Peel off your label and place it on your black slate coaster.
Step 3: Draw antlers on the back of your kraft brown full sheet label.
Step 4: Cut the antlers out.
Step 5: Cut the nose out of the red full sheet label.
Step 6: Unpeel the antlers and nose and stick them into place.
Step 7: Spread Mod Podge over the top of the coaster. Let dry.
Project Complete! Told you it was easy!
