How to Tattoo your Pumpkins for an Easy Halloween Decoration

There’s more than one way to decorate a pumpkin! If you’re against making a big mess digging out the insides for carving or just want to leave your pumpkin intact to last longer, you may want to try out these Pumpkin Tattoo Labels. The labels are designed to look like the pumpkin has been creatively stenciled or some similar technique that took much more time than simply applying a label to it. These are perfect for indoor pumpkin decorating or covered front porches.

These clear labels can be printed at home with pre-made designs and placed on your pumpkins so that they last all fall! Choose from Halloween or fall-themed designs.

Obviously pumpkins are not the ideal shape for a large oval label, BUT we can definitely work with it and make it fit our needs.

1. Start by finding the smoothest side of the pumpkin. Place the label on this side and smooth from left to right and top to bottom. Basically the four corners will pop out a bit from the ridges in the pumpkin. We’re going to fix that!

2. Take a pair of sharp precision scissors and cut into one of the corner towards the center of the label to where it no longer bulges out (~1/2 – 1″).

3. Smooth down the top edge of the label. You just cut then smooth down the bottom on top of it. The label will overlap slightly but overall will be barely noticeable, if at all.

4. Continue working through all of the corners of the label until it is completely smooth.

Can you tell the places where the label was cut and pieced back together?

This gentleman skeleton is one of my favorite designs from the Halloween set!

The Halloween labels will work on just about any color of pumpkin. Use one or use them all.

I love to decorate with pumpkins so I have all of the tattooed pumpkins sitting on my front porch.

After Halloween, switch those labels over to the fall collection. I love the “Welcome” label for greeting guests at the front steps, and the “Thankful” label for the kitchen table.

And, of course, feel free to use your imagination to use these labels just about anywhere! I have a covered cake stand just begging to be decorated with the “Home Sweet Home” label!

Where would you use these “tattoos” other than on pumpkins?

[…] Yup more white, I just love white its so refreshing and looks amazing with anything you pair it with.  Here I have the cutest placemat from Hester & Cook   I love the confetti look!  This would also work for Christmas and New Years!  I layered on a gold charger from Sophistiplates and a white salad plate from them as well.  I think if I used this table setting I would use my grandma white salad plates, but I couldn’t resist the cuteness of the ruffled edges.  The fun gold take away container is from The Container Store and the cute label is actually meant to be pumpkin tattoos.  How cute would that be?  but seeing as this is for a dinner table large scale pumpkins didn’t quite fit the bill!  LOL  you can find this label on  labels […]
