I’m throwing my BFF Jessica a birthday party this weekend and as a party favor, I’m passing out these super cute cupcakes in a jar treat. I made two different kinds – jars with two cupcakes inside and jars with one inside – that way guests can choose how much of the party they want to take home with them.
I love this idea because it’s so versatile. You can use it for adult and kid parties, holiday celebrations, weddings, baby showers, you name it. You can also use it as a party favor or as a cute way to present the cupcakes to your guests.
I designed the labels on Maestro Label Designer. It didn’t take me long at all. What’s cool about these labels is that you can print them out on your own printer. Score! No need to go to the office supply store to print them out.
Supplies and Ingredients:
- Cupcakes or cupcake mix
- Mason jars (I used 4 oz jars and ½ pint jars)
- Free printable labels for OnlineLabel.com’s OL5375 and OL892
Step 1: Make your cupcake batter. If you have a favorite cupcake recipe, use it! I’m not ashamed to admit, my favorite cupcake recipe comes from a box. If you’re in a rush, you can simply go to the bakery, buy some unfrosted cupcakes and slip them into a jar.
Step 2: Bake your cupcakes and let them cool for several minutes.
Step 3: While you wait, print out your cupcake jar labels.
Step 4: Peel the labels off and stick them on your jars.
Step 5: Once your cupcakes are ready, peel off the liner and drop it into one of your jars.
Step 6: Spread frosting onto the cupcake. There are new frosting cans out in stores that come with frosting tips. It’s kind of like a whip cream can and you press the nozzle and the frosting comes out. It’s so easy.
Step 7: Scatter sprinkles over the cupcake.
Step 8: If you have the ½ pint jar, repeat the pattern. If you have the 4 oz jar, you’re done.
