Instructions

  1. Select your label material (we used gold, but there's also silver and a variety of other colors) and order the right one for your printer type (laser vs inkjet).
  2. Download the printable above and print your labels. You may need to change your printer setting to "high-quality" for the ink to be dark enough.
  3. Set your sheet(s) aside so that the ink can dry completely before using.
  4. Use a permanent marker to fill in the space with your child's name. (If you're worried the kids will recognize your handwritting, click "Customize more or save this design" to open the template in Maestro Label Designer. Select a fun font and then print.)
  5. Stick your gift tags from Santa onto all your Christmas gifts!

The chalkboard trend is still going strong! There are a lot of pretty chalkboard-themed wrapping papers available and now you can turn any surface into a matching chalkboard gift tag.

Instructions

  1. Select your label material – we used one of the white paper options so it aborbs the chalk paint.
  2. Choose your chalkboard paint color. It comes in many colors other than just black like green, red, and blue, just to name a few.
  3. Use a sponge brush to apply 2-3 coats of paint to the labels, letting each coat dry before adding the next.
  4. Chalkboard paint takes 24 hours to cure, but since these are single use, you don't really need to follow that rule. Once the paint is good and dry, go ahead and begin using them. If you do want to cure them, wait the 24 hours then rub labels with chalk then erase. It will certainly add to the chalkboard look.
  5. Grab chalk or a chalk pen and write in who the gift is to/from. Add decorative drawings, too!
  6. Stick your gift tags onto all your Christmas gifts.
